The color is 2005 Ford Screaming Yellow
from PPG. I have taken three trips to the paint shop since I started.
The first was for the basics, bondo and hardner, primer, base coat and clear
coat where I dropped $980. The second trip was for the right poly urethane
primer, more sandpaper, and tape... $148. The next time was for etching
primer, hardner, glazing putty and hardner for it and more paper... $142.
The last time was for more primer and reducer... ran out before I was
happy with the car's finish and paper... another $145. I also dropped
another $300 on ebay auctions where I picked up a DA sander, inline sander,
rolls of paper, a water separator/filter/regulator, and a HVLP paint gun.
So far I have invested about $1700 in this job. I spoke to 2 body shops in
the area and both wanted at least $2500 - 2700 for a color change plus time for
fixing the parking lot dings and dents.

This sucker is YELLOW. The color takes about 2
coats to cover the primer so it doesn't look green. A third coat makes it
perfect. I used about 18 ounces of paint and 18 ounces of reducer to cover
what you see here.
The left door jamb and under side of the
hood.

The right door jamb gave me some problems.
I started seeing water in the paint. I drained the tank, the filter, and
the separator. Here I put it on too deep too soon. The water made
spots in the finish in the second pic. The water kept coming. I have
a water trap/filter under the regulator on the paint gun that I had to empty
about every 30 seconds. I'll sand these out in the morning and shoot the
ugly spots over.

After that dries, I'll shoot the engine compartment with the clear.
