Hunters!

 Come Sight in your guns!!

Now is the time to make sure your favorite hunting rifle is going to bag that buck for you.

Don’t go hunting without the good feeling of knowing exactly where your gun hits.

The F.O.P. Range is the best place in the Jefferson County area to sight in your deer rifles.

The range is open to the public so everyone can shoot here.   This is the only supervised, safe, outdoor commercial range in the area that is set up for shooting pistols, rifles and shotguns.

The Public Range has 12 concrete benchrest tables for sighting in rifles out to 100 yards.  We loan out rifle rests, sandbags, sighting scopes, etc. and can help you if you have any problems.  The store at the range has ammo, targets, and shooting supplies at really good prices.  The shooting tables are covered so you can shoot in any weather, rain or shine.  Restroom facilities and a heated lounge are also here.

What does it cost?

We have to charge a little money to cover the costs of running a large range.  The Public Range Use Fee is only $10 during the week and $15 on weekends.  Kids are half price with a paying adult.  There is no per hour or per lane or table fee.  You shoot all day if you need to.  When the range is busiest (weekends), there is a range officer on the range whose job is to make sure you have a safe day at the range.  He will call the range hot and cold for you and assist you with any problems.

Where is the Range?

91 1st Street Pleasant Grove, Al. 35127

From Birmingham, take 59/20 to the Allison Bonnet Memorial Drive exit, #115.  Bear to your right off the exit ramp onto ABM Drive.  Go to the 3rd light and turn right onto Pleasant Grove Road.  There is a “RaceTrack” gas station on that corner.  Go 3.5 miles and we are on the right.  Look for the big white sign with blue letters on the right at 1st Street.  Drive time will be about 15 minutes from the 59/65 interchange to the range.  Super easy to get to.

When is the best time?

Weekends during the hunting season are usually the busiest times.  During the week, you may be the only shooter on the range.  The range is open 7 days a week, 9am-5pm Mon – Sat and Sun noon – 5pm.  Memberships are available if you need to shoot more often and want to save some money in the long run.  Check out more info on the Membership Info page.

For tons of info and lots of pictures, see the range web site, www.foprangeinc.com.  You will also find the range’s Online Gun Store where you can choose from thousands of new guns priced at 10% over dealer cost.  Ammo, targets, rifle rests, spotting scopes... everything you need to get sighted in for hunting season is here for you at the range.
