Aerial Range PhotosThe pictures were taken after the Alabama Section IPSC Championship Match, at about 330 pm, just minutes after 185 shooters left the range.
This is the F.O.P. Range from about 2000 feet up. It covers 10 acres and is about 1/2 a mile from the nearest house. The Rifle Range is on the extreme lower left side of this photo. The Shotgun Range is in the lower center of the photo. The Primary Range is in the upper center with the Stationary Steel Plate Range beside it. The parking lot is in the center between the Primary Range and the lower pistol ranges whaich are beside the rifle range. All the berms that seperate the ranges are very thick and about 10 - 12 feet high. The berm at the end of the Rifle Range is about 18 feet high.
The Rifle range on the right side faces north east.
You can see the lower ranges beside the Rifle Range. A tree line seperates them from the parking lot. The clubhouse/office is at the upper center of the photo, at the west side of the parking lot.
All the ranges have covered areas uprange that will give you protection from the elements while allowing use of the range.
The road down to the range is a good gravel road, no mud anywhere, that is about half a mile long from the gate to the parkinkg lot.
The Shotgun Range also faces east, away from the other ranges.
All the ranges and the parking lot are covered with a good layer of gravel. There is no mud in any of the shooting areas on the range. |
