Update 11-12-05 Saturday at 11:15 pm
I got some good advice and decided to follow it. My
fear was that with the different colored primer, I might end up with different
tints of yellow. I
picked up a quart of PPG Deltron white base coat... $80 and after another 6
hours of getting ready, shot the whole car in white. I got three coats out
of that quart. After the white, I washed out the paint gun and started
mixing the yellow. It really turned on with the white base coat under
it... it kind of glows.

I had to stop a few times to wet sand the bugs that found their way into the
paint. The good news is, after a little attention with the 400 grit and
some water, the next coat perfectly covered the spot. When I pour the
clear to it tomorrow after laying out the stripes, it'll really shine.

I'm happy. It took me about 6 hours of spraying to get
it to this point. I'm pooped.
